Our beautiful area just north of Nosara where Emerald Woods, Ruby Sky and Black
Beauty eco-villages are located is being recognized by many to be one of the last exclusive
locations in all of Costa Rica. Recently Barceló Hotels &
Resorts, with over 130 luxury hotels in 15 countries has announced they will be
developing Hotel Barceló Playa Azul, in Guanacaste. This planned 5-star
hotel will be a short walk from our own Ruby Sky Village and is intended in part
to serve tourists who come for medical treatments. The resort will include a
hospital, a health and beauty center with 60 rooms and a research center. In
total, the hotel will have 248 rooms and 50 villas, plus a shopping center. It
has been announced that the complex will cost $237 million in total and is
planned to be opened in late 2011.
